The 53rd Jirovec's Protozoological Days will take place in Karlova Studánka, a beautiful village in the heart of the Jeseníky Mountains from April 29 to May 3, 2024. As every year, this conference is organized by the Protozoological section of the Czech Society for Parasitology, but this year, it will also include participation from the Department of Biology and Ecology, University of Ostrava.
The conference focuses on a broad spectrum of scientific topics, comprising the whole field of protistology. Participants can look forward to talks and posters about parasitic protists, algae, amoebae, and much more. All of this will be presented from the perspectives of molecular biology, genetics, ecology, and taxonomy.
The conference, therefore, offers a unique opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to meet established scientists in the field, discuss their research with them, and ask for advice. The meeting also provides a great opportunity for senior PhD students and junior postdocs to find job opportunities. Generally, it is a great opportunity to meet with other scientists and discuss the latest research.

The conference takes place in the beautiful village of Karlova Studánka, located in the Jeseníky mountains. Accommodation is provided in the spa building Bezruč, and the conference itself is held in the spa building Libuše. But do not worry, the distance between these two buildings is around 150 meters.
